IN GMC PATIALA AND FARIDKOT 25 ADDITIONAL MBBS SEATS EACH

 

The State Government of Punjab has approved the creation of 25 more MBBS seats in each of the Government Medical Colleges of Patiala and Faridkot, giving more medical students in Punjab the opportunity to pursue their ideal career. The state’s minister for medical research and education, confirmed this on Monday when he made the announcement. In addition, instructions have been given to the authorities for the start of classes at the medical colleges in Sangrur, Hoshiarpur, and Kapurthala beginning with the following academic year.

 

A Minister also spoke about the State’s plans for creating a medical college in each district, alluding to the Punjab Chief Minister led Government’s desire to add additional MBBS seats in the GMCs. According to a source, the Minister additionally gave instructions to the authorities to enhance the operation of the hospitals affiliated with medical institutions and to guarantee the public has access to high-quality healthcare facilities. The Minister went on to suggest that patients in the hospitals managed by the medical institutions should receive free medications as quickly as feasible.

 

The decision to establish 16 new medical institutions in the State was recently announced by Punjab Finance Minister during the budget speech, and funds totaling Rs. 1,033 crore have already been allocated.

In addition to this, the government had previously disclosed its ambitions to modernise current government medical colleges and increase the number of MBBS seats at these institutions.
