What is a Duolingo test?

The Duolingo English Test is a standard evaluation of English language proficiency for communication in English medium. It considers the applicant’s ability to use language skills that are required for literacy, conversation, comprehension, and production. This test can be accessed via the internet and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, without any testing center. It was developed to be efficient. It is a computer adaptive test also known as CAT. It takes about one hour to complete the entire process of taking the test (i.e., onboarding, test administration, uploading). Universities across Canada have started accepting the Duolingo Test for admission in various courses for the year 2020-21.

Most institutions in Canada require a minimum score of 115 in the test. But a few institutions or programs require higher scores.
