Mass movement of students to abroad for pursuing MBBS?

The reasons due to which students of India are going abroad for pursuing medicine are:

  • lack of standardization of fees,
  • infrastructural challenges
  • quota reservations,
  • a sub-optimal college-student ratio

The system needs to focus on these key points to eliminate this issue.

Also , the main problem is also that the in foreign countries the competition is less,  and hence any students can practice medical education with inexpensive and very much affordable price.

Another reason is that , India has very less number of medical seats and too large number of students applicants and the private college fees is over expensive . So, students prefer better to go to abroad and complete their education from there.

As soon as these students complete their graduation from abroad they have to appear for foreign medical graduates examination in India and after qualifying it they can practice in India.

According to the Chief Executive Officer for investment banking, Samir Bahl and Anand Rathi Advisors , due to students returning from Ukraine there is a shortage seen in the medical seats in India , so there is now a need to make changes into private sector colleges system , to see improvement in the current scenario.

Also , suggestion was made to have a public-private partnership (PPP) model , to come out of the current situation of India and for improving the current status .

Further points were also covered which included:

  • government schemes and incentives,
  • fee structures,
  • nature of admission programs,
  • growth of coaching centre,
  • changes in admission dynamics on the advent of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test .
