Coming to the allotment results and placement of MBBS degrees, reports suggest that nearly 1,250 seats will be available for the second round of counselling in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The report came from a notification from the state’s CET cell.

This is inclusive of 420 seats, which are yet to receive approval from the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS). Sindhudurg College should also approve about 85 seats. At present, there are 735 vacant seats after the first round of counselling. It is inclusive of the NRI quota and all other related admissions.

ACPM Medical College of Dhule which is currently at the hands of court, is yet to approve 150 seats for the same. Many other newly structured universities and colleges are yet to give their confirmation on the allotted and vacant seats.

The CET cell administered this process by taking the preferences of students for both the rounds. It is believed that most likely, large number of seats will be from the NRI quota. Around 750, excluding the NRI quota is likely to be vacant for the next round of counselling. The state had nearly 5,900 seats with 43 colleges, both private and public in the first-round admission process.

For BDS admissions, half of the seats, nearly 2,700 are vacant for the second round of admissions. At present, there are about 1,300 students who have joined and begun the academic year.
