NEW MEDICAL COLLEGES IN BIHAR

The number of government medical colleges in Bihar will expand soon, which is excellent news for the state’s medical aspirants, as the 2 new medical colleges in Saran and Samastipur are anticipated to be ready by the end of 2022. A total of 14 GMCs would exist in the State after the opening of these two new medical colleges in Saran and Samastipur.

Bihar has a total of 20 medical colleges with a combined intake capacity of 2540 MBBS seats. There are 12 Government medical colleges offering a total of 1490 seats for MBBS admission among these. In the State’s 8 private medical colleges, there are an additional 1050 MBBS seats available.

Prior to now, the state’s minister of health had declared that the two medical schools in Saran and Samastipur will be open in November and December of 2022, respectively. It’s confirmed once more by the assistant secretary of the State Health department, Kaushal Kishore. He also stated that the academic sessions for MBBS students would start the following year and in addition to the 100 seats at the PSU-established ESIC Medical College and Hospital at Bihar, there are presently 1,290 MBBS seats available throughout government medical colleges in Bihar. With the exception of 150 seats at a different private medical college in Muzaffarpur, the state’s seven private medical institutions have 900 seats total. The establishment of a government medical college and hospital in the state’s Supaul district has just received approval from the Bihar State Cabinet.
