Delay in medical admissions 2021: clarification by MCC

The result of NEET 2021 was declared on November 1st 2021. Now, more than one month after the results, the counseling process has not even started. In regarding the unrests among medical aspirants in this situation, the Medical Counseling Committee is now coming up with an official notification on the counseling and admission process. According to this notification there will be some lag for one another month, to start the admission processes.

The case against EWS reservation in NEET admission is the main reason behind the delaying of counseling process. At present the case is under Supreme Court, which questions the criteria of finding Economic Weaker Sections Category, for providing reservation for the same. The case is again appearing before the Supreme Court on January 6th. The admission process will begin only after the verdict, according to the information given by MCC.

Reservation percentage declared now, by the Central Government (as of the notification for NEET 2021) – 27% for OBC, 10% for EWS candidates. The case is given about the logic behind identifying EWS candidates. The notification states that candidates with less than 8 lakh annual family income will be considered for EWS categories. Furthermore, this reservation is said to be applicable for both UG and PG medical courses, in All India Quota.

The government was advised to make necessary revision in the EWS criteria, during the last hearing of Supreme Court. In that hearing, Tushar Mehta, the Solicitor General of India asked the Government to create a committee, to make necessary revisions. The eligibility for admission will get modified, when changes is made for the criteria, by creating such committee. This is the real reason for lagging the admission process, as the modifications will surely change the conditions for allocating seats, for both UG and PG.

MBBS Abroad is a big decision and your success depends upon the honesty of your consultant. It is a long process starting from choosing the right college to reaching there at college door step and finally studying there for next 5-6 years. You are in a new country without many old friends. We were sure to approach a consultant who is based out of our district only so that not only during admission but for next 6 years, we can have smooth interactions. So, we approached GKWorks as they have a branch in Saharanpur. As we anticipated, there are lot of things to be done during admission process that goes for 3-4 months. At every step, it was useful for us to have our consultant who was only 20 minutes’ drive from our home. We were able to discuss everything face to face any day and thus were able to have easy process.
