Key Updates from MCC for NEET UG 2025 Round 2 Counselling

 Addition of 197 MBBS Seats to the Seat Matrix

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), under DGHS, has incorporated 197 additional MBBS seats into the Round 2 counselling seat matrix for NEET UG 2025.

  • Breakdown of seats:

    • ESIC Medical College, Hyderabad: 9 seats under the ESI quota.

    • Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College, Belagavi:

      • 158 seats under the Deemed/Paid quota

      • 30 seats under the NRI quota

These additions give more options to candidates and apply to the MBBS, BDS, and allied courses that come under central counselling. The MCC has advised candidates to revisit and update their choices to include these new options.

2. Extension of Round 2 Counselling Schedule

Alongside seat additions, the MCC has extended the timeline for NEET UG Round 2 counselling—covering choice submission, locking, and registration.

  • Why the extension?

    • MCC is still integrating newly accredited seats from NMC into the seat matrix.

    • The committee is also completing the verification of documents for NRI applicants.

  • What has been extended?

    • The individual deadlines for registration, choice filling, and submission have been pushed “till further notice”. The revised schedule will be released soon on the official MCC website (mcc.nic.in).

Candidates are encouraged to actively monitor the MCC portal for updates and ensure they adjust their preferences accordingly once the timeline is updated.

We live 100 Km’s away from Varanasi. The internet connection in our town is very weak and my parents are not that educated. For us, understanding the word RTGS was also very difficult.
