The Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology has emerged as one of the top private technical institutes since its establishment in 1999. It has constantly ranked amongst the top engineering Institutes by DATAQUEST.

The Institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi.

The overall environment of the institute is highly conducive for growth of the students. In addition to providing a quality learning atmosphere, the Institute also promotes culture, sports, societal contributions, art, self-governance and human values.

History

The Institute came into existence because of the efforts of the Maharaja Agrasen Technical Education Society. Promoted by well-known industrialists, businessmen, professionals and philanthropists; the society aims to promote quality education in the fields of Technology and Management.

The Institute started with its first batch of 180 B. Tech. students in 1999.

Facilities

MAIT’s campus comprises of 10 blocks including the Admin Block with Wi-Fi connectivity, well-equipped modern laboratories, a well-stocked Learning Resource Centre with books and E-Resources, Boys Hostel, Gym and Auditorium.

Industrial Collaboration

MAIT invites industries to help impart industry-relevant technical education and training to the students. Its alumni have also distinguished themselves through their contributions to industry, academics, research, business, government and social domains.

The Institute works closely with the alumni to enhance its activities through interactions in academic and research programmes.

Courses

At present, MAIT offers a Bachelor’s Degree in 5 disciplines of Engineering:

1. Computer Science and Engineering
2. Electronics and Communication
3. Electrical and Electronics
4. Information Technology
5. Mechanical and Automation.

It also offers a Postgraduate degree in Master of Business Administration.

1. Computer Science and Engineering Department

This department was established in 1999 under the GGSIP University with an intake of 60 students. In 2008, the intake was increased to 120 students and at present, the Department accepts 240 students.

The Computer Science and Engineering Department focuses on achieving excellence in technical education & research.

A highly qualified and experienced faculty of professors is engaged in providing quality education to students. and prepare the students in wider field of Computer Engineering to take up challenging jobs in the area of :-

The Department prepares students to take up challenging jobs, under the wider purview of the Computer Engineering field, in the following specific areas:

1. Systems Software Development
2. Application Software Development

• Computer Networks

2. Electronics and Communication Engineering Department

With a current intake of 180 students, this Department focuses on providing the excellent technical education to its students and assesses the success of its programs against stringent quality standards.

With a great faculty to match, this Department prepares its students to take up careers in the following areas:

1. VLSI Design
2. Embedded Systems

• Microwave Engineering

1. Analog and Digital Signal Processing

3. Electrical and Electronics Engineering

This Department was established years after MAIT came into existence, in 2004, to cater to the needs of industries, both in the core sector and diverse fields where IT was used as a tool.

The EEE Department aims at producing engineers with sound knowledge in the electronics field. For this, the Department takes the help of qualified and experienced teachers; and carries out research and technology development initiatives in the areas of EEE.

The major areas of faculty expertise of the department are:

1. Power systems
2. Power electronics

• Advanced control systems

1. Power quality management
2. Soft computing
3. Electromagnetic field theory and much more

4. The Information Technology Department

With a student intake of 180, this Department came into effect in the year 2001.

With its quality content in the field of IT, the Department has been attracting bright and talented students from across the country for years.

The Department, with its focus on technical excellency and experienced faculty, prepares students for the following areas of Information Technology:

1. Software Development
2. Computer Networking

The students of the Department develop the understanding of combining solid technical understanding with essential soft skills.

The Graduates of the Department are recruited heavily in the IT industry and hold positions of importance therein.

5. Mechanical and Automation Engineering Department

The Department was granted Accreditation by the National Board of Accreditation for 3 years in 2007.

The Department runs the B. Tech. MAE Programme in two shifts.

In the year 2010, it secured 3 Lac rupees under the MODROB scheme of AICTE for developing a Mechatronics Lab.

This Department had also organised a National Conference in 2012 and various Seminars and Faculty Development programmes in the past seventeen years.

The students of the Department have earned various laurels for the Institute, having participated in various International and National Competitions.

The SAE BAJA team of the Department participates in International Events at USA every year. In the year 2018, in a moment of high honour, the team was sponsored by AICTE and received funding worth Rs. 10 Lakhs for participating in International Events.
