The MBBS cut off goes down by around 10 marks.

This year the NEET cut off has gone down by 10 marks in several categories. The decrement is to make the selection procedure easy and in favor of students for marginal improvement in performance by TN students. Also the number of seats in both private and medical colleges has increased , which will be filled by this decrement.

According to National Testing Agency data, this year more than 235 TN students scored 650+ marks in NEET entrance. Last year only 205 TN students scored  more than 650.

The  score of 500 was achieved by 5,148 students in 2021 against 5,240 in 2020 and those who scored 500 were 8,319 in 2021 against 8,316 in 2020.

The students’ counsellor Manickavel Arumu says that this decrease is made due to increasing MBBS seats only. Because the difference in the scores as compared to previous year are not sufficient enough to appreciate such a down in cut off.

In government medical colleges the  cut off for open category may go down to 585 from 598.

For BC and MBC also the cut off  will also go down by up to 15 marks.

In Tamil Nadu 11 new government medical colleges are opening , which will add a total of 1,450 seats. Also the Coimbatore government medical college will admit 200 students for MBBS and BDS courses.

Along with thee, around  three medical colleges which will be self financed and one  private university along with  deemed universities have been given the permit for starting the UG medical programs.

The top scorers are looking for admission in central institutes like AIIMS and JIPMER. It’s considered best to choose the college which is close to your home. But if scores are high a superior university can always be chosen.

Toppers will be choosing seats from the Medical colleges of all over India. This will ease the other students as the State level cut off will decrease. Expert coaches say that, for the top institutes like Madras Medical College the city will not go down, as there is no increment made in their medical seats.

The secretary of Kilpauk Medical College Alumni Association and a trainee of government school students for NEET says that the cut off for government school student’s quota (7.5%) will not go down. From 1500 seats of government Medical College, only around 100 seats will be added to the 7.5% special government school student’s quota.

MBBS Abroad is a big decision and your success depends upon the honesty of your consultant. It is a long process starting from choosing the right college to reaching there at college door step and finally studying there for next 5-6 years. You are in a new country without many old friends. We were sure to approach a consultant who is based out of our district only so that not only during admission but for next 6 years, we can have smooth interactions. So, we approached GKWorks as they have a branch in Saharanpur. As we anticipated, there are lot of things to be done during admission process that goes for 3-4 months. At every step, it was useful for us to have our consultant who was only 20 minutes’ drive from our home. We were able to discuss everything face to face any day and thus were able to have easy process.
