New norms for PR applicants in Canada

This may not be cheering news for applicants of permanent residence category, the Government of Canada has slightly enhanced its reserve settlement funds (show money) for them. Each one of the PR aspirants will now have to show more retain funds to the Canadian authorities at the time of filing their applications and also during landing in Canada.

For the Express Entry candidates, the Canadian government has recommended to clinch that their profiles are updated and must manifest their financial position change in regard to fund requirement. The change take into account an increase in the stipulated minimum settlement funds (known as show money) by over 1.5 per cent for each family.

To illustrate consider the previously required settlement funds was $ 12,474 ( Canadian)  which has now raised to $12,669 for the single person landing unaccompanied in Canada.

As stated in the new Canadian immigration barometer all federal skilled workers and federal skilled trades class aspirants or candidates must show a proof of settlement funds. The amended criterion will have a huge effect on Punjabis as they migrate in huge proportion to Canada every year.
