NEET Exam to be banned if Congress gets voted to power in Lok Sabha Elections 2019
On Tuesday, Congress promised to ban National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) if it gets into power after Lok Sabha elections 2019. According to Congress, the NEET examination is discriminatory against students from certain States. It is also being mentioned that the exam interferes with the State Government’s right to admit students domiciled in the State to medical colleges in that State.
The party promised the public to take measures to dispense with the NEET examination and substitute it with a State-level examination of an equivalent standard, approved by the competent authority for admission to medical colleges in that State.
It is also being brought into notice that earlier, the DMK has also promised to ban the NEET exam in one of its manifesto.
On 2nd April the Congress president Rahul Gandhi released their party manifesto, addressing that the manifesto focuses on NYAY scheme. The occasion was termed as ‘India’s New Tryst With Destiny’ by the Congress, reference to India’s first prime minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s famous speech after the country achieved independence in on August 15, 1947.
Rahul Gandhi attacked our current Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, by reminding his promise of Rs 15 lakh, also mentioned that it was more like a lie.
Congress promised that with NYAY scheme they will credit Rs 72,000 each year in accounts of poor.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) hit out at the Congress party and its president Rahul Gandhi over promises made by them in the manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
According to BJP, Congress manifesto makes dangerous promises that will break the country.
