At Korba Medical College NMC approves 100 MBBS seats

The NMC (National Medical College) has given permission for 100 seats in Korba Medical College after a long wait in the academic session of 2022-2023.

It has issued a letter on Friday after the evaluation as well as the supervision of the infrastructure as well as facilities that are provided by the government of State to the Korba medical college. Although, the permission was granted for setting medical colleges in Kanker, Mahasamund and the district of Korba in the year of 2020, the medical college in Korba had not passed the test taken by NMC.

In the previous year, on the month of August, the Medical Assessmet and Rating Board of NMC had done an investigation of the three medical colleges of Chhattisgarh along with the UG Expert Medical Group who had represented online.

They have found some shortcomings and the committee has given time for 21 days to improve. However, the Korba Medical College had been rejected and stated that there was no improvement. Moreover, the committee has stated that the principal was not present in campus and failed to show the infrastructure.

The latest news is heard about the grant of 100 MBBS seats for 2022-2023 academic session and the commission has granted Letter of Intent to the Dean of Korba Medical College..

Medical Education Minister, Shri T.S. Singhdeo, congratulated the state for earning the NMC grant and also mentioned about the 300 seats for MBBS in the government medical colleges. This will help grater number of people in Chattisgarh to pursue medicine.

Client Testimonial

MBBS Abroad is a big decision and your success depends upon the honesty of your consultant. It is a long process starting from choosing the right college to reaching there at college door step and finally studying there for next 5-6 years. You are in a new country without many old friends. We were sure to approach a consultant who is based out of our district only so that not only during admission but for next 6 years, we can have smooth interactions. So, we approached GKWorks as they have a branch in Saharanpur. As we anticipated, there are lot of things to be done during admission process that goes for 3-4 months. At every step, it was useful for us to have our consultant who was only 20 minutes’ drive from our home. We were able to discuss everything face to face any day and thus were able to have easy process.
