NEET – UG Counselling process?

The NEET UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate) counseling process in India is conducted for admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses in various government and private colleges across the country. Here’s an overview of the NEET UG counseling process:

  1. NEET UG Result: The first step is to appear for the NEET UG exam and wait for the declaration of results. The results are typically announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on their official website.
  2. Registration: Once the results are declared, candidates who qualify for the exam are required to register for the counseling process. The registration is usually done online on the official website of the designated counseling authority.
  3. Choice Filling and Locking: After registration, candidates need to fill their choices of colleges and courses they wish to apply for. The available choices are based on the seats available and the candidate’s eligibility. Candidates are advised to carefully select their choices based on their preferences. Once the choices are filled, candidates must lock their choices within the specified time frame.
  4. Seat Allotment: Based on the choices filled by candidates and their merit rank, seat allotment is conducted. The counseling authority prepares a merit list and allocates seats to candidates according to their rank, category, and availability of seats. The seat allotment result is published on the official website.
  5. Reporting to the Allotted College: Candidates who are allotted seats in the counseling process must report to the allotted college within the specified time period. They need to complete the admission formalities, submit the required documents, and pay the admission fee to secure their seat.
  6. Subsequent Rounds: If there are vacant seats after the first round of counseling, subsequent rounds of counseling may be conducted. Candidates who have not been allotted a seat in the first round or those who wish to participate in subsequent rounds can modify their choices or participate in the further counseling rounds.
  7. Mop-Up Round: In some cases, a mop-up round may be conducted to fill the remaining vacant seats. This round is usually held for seats that are still available after all the counseling rounds have been completed.

It’s important to note that the counseling process may vary slightly from year to year and from state to state. Therefore, it is advisable to refer to the official notification and website of the counseling authority for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the NEET UG counseling process.

MBBS Abroad is a big decision and your success depends upon the honesty of your consultant. It is a long process starting from choosing the right college to reaching there at college door step and finally studying there for next 5-6 years. You are in a new country without many old friends. We were sure to approach a consultant who is based out of our district only so that not only during admission but for next 6 years, we can have smooth interactions. So, we approached GKWorks as they have a branch in Saharanpur. As we anticipated, there are lot of things to be done during admission process that goes for 3-4 months. At every step, it was useful for us to have our consultant who was only 20 minutes’ drive from our home. We were able to discuss everything face to face any day and thus were able to have easy process.
