IELTS Latest Updates

IELTS(International English Language Testing System) is one of the English proficiency tests taken by students who want to study abroad. It is amongst the most favoured test taken. Some modifications have been made terms of the registration fee and mode of exam, all these modifications are effective from April 1, 2019. Earlier, candidates had to pay Rs.12,650,but now, they have to pay Rs. 13,250 in both Paper-based test and Computer-delivered test. The British Council jointly own IELTS. IELTS test dates are designated in 50 official test centre locations across India. Candidates can choose the test according to their own convenience, based on availability.

New Fee Structure –

• INR 13,250 – Paper-based test (IELTS Academic or General Training)
• INR 13,250 – Computer-delivered test IELTS (Academic or General Training)

Mode of Payment –

• Credit/ Debit (Visa or Master) and Netbanking
• Demand Draft
• Bank deposit

The second change made is the mode of exam. Now one can opt for Computer-delivered IELTS exam like other English proficiency tests are organized while the paper-based exam still exists, it depends upon the candidate to choose exam mode.

In computer-based IELTS exam mode, a test of Listening, Reading and Writing skills would be taken on a computer,while, in the Speaking test will be a face-to-face test similar to Paper-based exam. The computer-delivered exam result will be declared after 5-7 days of IELTS exam date.

Indian IELTS test centres in Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Bathinda and Ahmedabad will conduct both paper-based and computer-delivered IELTS exam.
